Description
The materials contained within the Luther College Archives and the archives at Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum document the history and culture of emigrants from Norway to the United States and their descendants, with additional emphasis on the origins of the Norwegian Lutheran church in America west of the Mississippi River and the founding of Luther College, the first Norwegian-American college. The collection includes, but is not limited to, photographs, diaries, letters, sermons, institutional records from Luther College (the first Norwegian-American college), records from other early Norwegian-American educational institutions, the Norwegian Lutheran Synod, congregational records, audio, and moving images.
